Slooowly adding actual and completed work rather than silly WIP/experiments/struggles learning software. I do some reqs and comissions via diabolical and fun parts of the anime-related internet (ahemhentaicoughcough) digitally for exploration, a change of pace, and to indulge in lewd smut. That’s all in between my “living” as an oldskool boring oil painter doing portraiture, landscapes and still lifes from life (I hate working from photos, they kill the color and emotion). It’s a living...almost!
PLEASE leave votes and comments. It takes literally 2 seconds to hit that rating star and artists live for that.
Gimmick
the problem ends up being...how do you judge smut? you don't rate pron for the plot, if you get what i'm saying

You mean how do you rate it using a star system, or how do you judge if it’s smut to begin with? I usually rate loosely based on how likely it’d be for me to save/re-visit it later, which includes hotness, general competency and polish, and character and whether it gives off any feeling or is just lifeless and over-rendered. Actually I guess that’s mainly how I rate any art.
For lewds particularly there has to be a sense of psychology...something going on, a little story or situation in play. Super-attractive girls with great racks or whatever can work but it’s better to me if she’s appalled that you’re seeing it, or proud (while that other girl is jealous). Hottie tied up is nice but hottie tied up while reaching for the handcuff keys over there with her toes is the gold. You get the idea. At any rate (ha!) it’s just a 5-star system so I go with a gut instinct, usually being generous within 1/2 star and ignoring my preferences to give a fair rating based on effort/competency/“I can get how they did a good job even though I am not into guy on guy porn” if I end up clicking on that for instance.
Or tl;dr: can I fap to this??
Most of this is sort of loose the way I apply it to lewds but I am involved with lewds entirely for fun and to please people in anime fandom (as opposed to fine art in charcoal from a live model your mom might hang in her living room or you’d talk about in public to “normal” people.
I have done real critiques here once or twice but usually just a comment, stars, and maybe follow them.
